Short Biography
I have a Masters Degree in heterogeneous catalysis from the University of Cordoba (Spain) and a PhD in Crystal Structure Prediction from the University of Cambridge (uk). After gaining my PhD, for which I was awarded the Panalytical thesis prize in physical crystallography in 2009, I worked in the materials science department at Pfizer Global Research (Sandwich, UK). At Pfizer, I helped accelerate the research to development transition of pharmaceutical compounds and assess polymorphism using computational techniques. I then became a full time postdoctoral research fellow at the CCDC and a member of the Pfizer Institute for Pharmaceutical Materials Sciences since April 2009 to October 2011. I am currently a NWO VENI postdoctoral research fellow at the computational chemistry group at the UvA, learning new and exciting techniques for the simulation of dynamic events in solids and solutions.
